App works on API 26 but crashes on API 23 (marshmallow)

The application is working as fine without any unexpected behavior in API 26 emulator, but crashes in API 23. The app right when it starts. I'm fairly new to android so not quite sure what changes to make to adapt to API 23.

    Each image placed inside drawable-v26 will only work with Android api version 26. So, you need to move it to drawable or create multiple image to drawable-hdpi, drawable-xhdpi, etc.

  • handling backpress in bottom navigation for fragments doesnt work properly

  • How to map Servlet in Maven using Netbeans 8.2?

    I visited Servlet not being mapped, java web.xml not being overridden in target folder and tried to implement.

    My web.xml automatically created whenever Servlet added by using Neatbeans interface and resides in project_folder/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/ and has follwing content like below (Default created by Netbeans)-

  • AdMob rewarded video ad only showing in wifi

    AdMob rewarded video ads only showing when connected to wifi. I have added my device as test device. At the time of developing, device connected to wifi and ads were loading perfectly each time. After published in play store, ads not loading in mobile network. Any ideas how I can solve this problem?

    Using these dependencies.

  • Print data from a backgound app to another app's edit text in android

    I have a requirement where some operations will be done on a background app. This background app will identify if a certain app operations with package, lets say com.test.operation is the foreground app. If it is the foreground app and keyboard is open or focus is on an edit text, then perform some operation and print the result onto the edit text.

    Note that this is not a normal scenario of passing data from a background app onto the foreground app. Where the foreground app knows about the existence of the background app.

    To make things more easy to understand,Lets say i have a barcode scanner. I open any app containing EditText. I attach the barcode reader to the device. And scans the barcode, android system will copy the barcode into the EditText field, although the app was not listening to the barcode event, android system does that on its own.

    So my background app needs to work in the similar manner. Its running in the background, based on some trigger, it will print the result on to the foreground app's EditText, without the foreground app listening for it.

    Is it possible to do that in android java or native code? If yes any reference or guidance would be good. If not then also do explain why a barcode is able to do that, and not the background app cannot do the same.
