Is systemd network operates periodically?
I am using custom kernel, and noticed it has periodic hang of networking every several seconds, and then network is OK again after couple of seconds.
When I removed /etc/network/interfaces then networks works excellent without any issues.
It "feels" as if systemd is perdiocally operates the ifup/ifdown for some reasons, probably becuase it thinks that link is down when it is not.
My question is if it is correct to think that network systemd periodically calls ifup/ifdown, (or some other similar periodically tasks like checking of network status, in order to decide if should do ifup/ifdown).
I try to have a better understanding of the way network systemd functions.

What's the most cost-effective AWS service to build a chat-like application?
I'm trying to move my Firebase application to the AWS infrastructure, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what's the most cost-efficient way of running a real-time application comprised of mostly chat and DynamoDB CRUD operations for no more than a 1,000 users at a time.
So far, I've found the following options:
AWS Console Session Timeout
There is a way to limit the AWS console session timeout to less than 1 hour?
I didn't find any option for this in the console or policy/role in the IAM. Please assist.
Thanks for the help.
Amazon Kinesis + AWS Elastic search vs AWS EC2 ElasticSearch
We would like to use ElasicSearch for our services in order to:
search service logs
typical OE task - business metrics (they will be defined in a separate index).
analyse latency between services (we will emit additional system logs)
There will be about 1TB of logs daily - after putting it in ES index I think a daily index size could be >3TB.
What solution would you recommend? My understanding is that AWS Elastic Search is good for simple solutions and >3TB is a quite big cluster. EC2 will be more difficult to use (custom installation, maintenance etc).
