Oracle BI Publisher: How to configurate log Errors
I'm working with a big database in Oracle BI publisher, when I generate the report it shows an error of too many data for the server. I'm thinking that it might be the ram memory. If i put a range of two months it works but with one year it brokes.
I was thinking that the error could be write in a log file. I want to find it and configurate to not having all the warming and advertises writen. Where I can configurate it??

How to update table rows with values from a table join in oracle
I need to update a table (table 1) with values obtained from joining table 1 with table 2
I was able to achieve this in SQL Server:
UPDATE loanacct_payment_history SET paid_by_cifno=loanacct.cifno FROM loanacct_payment_history INNER JOIN loanacct ON loanacct_payment_history.acctrefno=loanacct.acctrefno
the above SQL works perfectly in SQL Server, but doesn't run in Oracle.
I tried the following in Oracle but it's not working:
UPDATE loanacct_payment_history LAPH SET (paid_by_cifno) = (SELECT LA.cifno FROM loanacct LA WHERE LA.acctrefno = LAPH.acctrefno) WHERE EXISTS (SELECT LA.cifno FROM loanacct LA WHERE LA.acctrefno = LAPH.acctrefno)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Does Oracle have any built in Collection/Record Types similar to sys.odcivarchar2list Types
Using the built in Oracle types is nice but I'm looking for something like a record... rather than a Vertical List of Values I'm looking for a Horizontal list of values aka a Record that I can make use of... preferably if there is a built in TABLE Type that I could make use of I believe that would work for me.
I did some searching into the SYS types and I found this one
ODCICompQueryInfohowever I'm not 100% on how I can utilize this as it's of TYPE OBJECT. I've pasted the code for this pulled directly out of the database.
create or replace TYPE ODCICompQueryInfo AS OBJECT ( PredInfo ODCIFilterInfoList, ObyInfo ODCIOrderByInfoList );
Getting error when creating external table on Oracle through SQL Server PolyBase
I'm trying to create an external table on Oracle using SQL Server PolyBase
At the beginning I was getting error
ORA-28040: No matching authentication protocol
After adding below line to sqlnet.ora
The previous error disappeared and I started getting below error
[Microsoft][ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol driver][Oracle]ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
I have created the datasource using below credential
CREATE DATABASE SCOPED CREDENTIAL ora_cred WITH IDENTITY = 'SYSTEM', Secret = 'SYSTEM'; CREATE EXTERNAL DATA SOURCE ora_ds WITH ( LOCATION = 'oracle://xeonserver:1521', -- PUSHDOWN = ON | OFF, CREDENTIAL = ora_cred) create external table Student ( id int, name varchar(25) ) with ( location = 'XE.SYSTEM.Student', data_source = ora_ds )
I can connect to Oracle instance
SYSTEM/SYSTEMso I don't know why I get the error.
I'm using SQL Server 2019 CTP-2 and Oracle 18 Express.
How to format a value to text in BI publisher
I am trying to create a report in BI. I have created a data model using a sql script and the data type is string. I then created a report using this data model and the sample data is showing as 06185 as shown below.
But when i run the report the output is showing as 6185.0 with decimal places.
I have tried to change the format by double clicking the value. But I cant choose any format except none in the report designer. What I need is the values to be displayed same as the sample data.
Nested loop in Oracle BI Publisher .RTF template
I have two nested loops each one use a different node to get data:
1) <?for-each-group:/DATA/TEST/ROW;./target_test?> 2) <?for-each:/DATA/TEST2/ROW?>
Looping with the first group for each target_test I generate a page of report and with the second group I fill a table. At this point the report works well if I have just one target_test, but if I have have more target_test the table is filled with all target_test and not only with the one which upper loop is refered. So as result for example i have the page with target_test = data1 that in the table contains also target_test = data2, target_test = data3 etc..
My question is: is possible to check with a condition if target_test in the second loop is equal to target test in the first loop? With this condition I can simply hide rows of the table when condition is not true.
How to format a number in etext Template
I have a requirement in my BIP Report where if the value is '163.8', the expected result should be '00000163.800'
I'm using pipe delimited etext template.
I've tried the following commands but nothing worked:
Number, ###.## TO_NUMBER(MyStringName,'99999999.999') TO_NUMBER(MyStringName,'00000000.000') TO_NUMBER(MyStringName,'########.###') FORMAT_NUMBER(MyStringName,'99999999.999')
MyString = '163.8' Expected Output = '00000163.800'
