How implement a googleapis script into the index in a Angular project?

I'm trying to use "https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?libraries=places&key=API_KEY" in a script into my index.html of an Angular project.

The problem is that that script gets called as localhost:port/https://..... and obviously it fails giving a net::ERR_ABORTED 404 (Not Found)

index.html:

<html lang="en">

<head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>AngularTest</title>
    <base href="/">

    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
    <link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" href="favicon.ico">
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.0.0/css/bootstrap.min.css" integrity="sha384-Gn5384xqQ1aoWXA+058RXPxPg6fy4IWvTNh0E263XmFcJlSAwiGgFAW/dAiS6JXm" crossorigin="anonymous">
    <script src=ā€¯https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?libraries=places&key=API_KEY"></script>
</head>

<body>
    <app-root></app-root>
</body>
</html>

Does anyone know how use it?
