Keystore.jks file from my backup now has a different SHA-1 than it used to have? Why?

I'm trying to update my app on Google Play Store.

It says

Your Android App Bundle is signed with the wrong key. Ensure that your App Bundle is signed with the correct signing key and try again. Your App Bundle is expected to be signed with the certificate with fingerprint:

And it gives me a SHA-1 value and says it's different from my key.

I open my keystore file and look at the key. Indeed, the SHA-1 value is different just like Google says.

No worries I think. I have made an old backup of my keystore.jks file. I download that backup, and open it to look at the SHA-1 value. It is wrong again. It's the same as the existing file on my computer, different from what is in Google Play Store.

How can this be and how do I fix it?
